My Work

Over the last few years, I’ve had the opportunity to be the chief lighting technician on some incredible projects, which I’ve compiled here in my gaffer reel. My film experience ranges from feature films, to music videos, to promotional/commercial work.

My job as a lighting technician is to help with electrical rigging and oversee electrical safety to all the members of the cast and crew. This includes providing power to all departments (including sound, camera, HMU, and wardrobe), as well as heading up and rigging film lights, ranging from small tungsten lamps, all the way to large HMIs.

It is also common to be mindful of lighting gear, keeping track of where each fixture is at all times. This can be especially important when the crew is shooting in several locations back to back, whether on the same day, or back to back days.

I learned (and continue to learn) my craft as a lighting technician under Local 479 and Local 80 members, including Jonathan Terpstra, Connor Young, Jacob Gibson, and Dave Roth.

I’ve been lucky enough to work on projects with some incredible people, including the following (for whom credit is due for my gaffer reel):

Caleb Smedra (Bringer of Light)
Simon Dunn (Mr. Grey)
Brady Bouren (Ember)
Brittney Smith (Regrets)

These projects were each a great experience and I truly am grateful to have had the opportunity to light them. I hope you will enjoy, and consider reaching out for any of your lighting needs!
